We  visited a site to offer advice and costs for supply and application of a floor coating.

The customer had purchased at great expense floor paint from a well known UK supplier.

This paint was applied by the company employees and the finish did look very good.

The supplier had also advised them to acid etch the concrete before coating.

The customer wanted us to install more coating but we insisted that we prepared the floor by grinding .

We was told that they would not allow this because they did not want to damage the surface of the floor because it was a new  building.

We explained that without the correct preparation we could not guarantee any coating works and the coating they had applied would not last a year.

This did not go down well considering the cost to them in putting the coating down them selves.

To make a point and after the customer accepted responsibility for what we was going to do , we removed his coating in 5 minutes with a sanding machine.
